LETROCAN

LETROCAN is a prescription medication containing Letrozole, a nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitor. It is primarily used in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women. By reducing estrogen production, LETROCAN helps slow or stop the growth of certain types of breast tumors that require estrogen to grow.

Therapeutic Indications:

LETROCAN is indicated for:

• Adjuvant Treatment: Treatment of early-stage hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women following surgery or radiation therapy.

• Extended Adjuvant Treatment: Continuation therapy for women who have completed 5 years of adjuvant tamoxifen therapy.

• First-Line Treatment: Management of hormone receptor-positive or unknown locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer in postmenopausal women.

• Second-Line Treatment: Treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women with disease progression following antiestrogen therapy.

Mechanism of Action:

Letrozole works by inhibiting the aromatase enzyme, which converts androgens into estrogens. By blocking this conversion, LETROCAN significantly reduces estrogen levels in the body, thereby depriving estrogen-dependent cancer cells of the hormone they need to grow.

Dosage and Administration:

• Recommended Dose: One 2.5 mg tablet taken orally once daily.
